Bart White

Arme Frau Schwarzer. Was meint ihr dazu? Meinungen gerne in Stabreimform...

Fun with obsolete hardware

01 June 2007

My ultracheap Fisheye camera ($30, almost 180°angle) is pleasureable. Maybe the best thing about it is that you can see the inside of the lens. It's kind of like when you close your eyes and concentrate on the reddish web in front of the dark. You actually see the very front of your brain, the optic nerve that is.

How firefighters spend their time

06 May 2007

Last winter I rediscovered that hoodies are the way. At least when it comes to fighting the cold. From the Geneva Airport fire fighters comes this funny clip to a French rap song called «Fous ta Cagoule» (drop your hood). The supervisor was not impressed. And in other news: Save the hoodie. Lovely hoodie in picture thanks to Pudel.

Birthday Crèmeschnitte. The Zürich design scene celebrates Helvetica's 50th birthday, and themselves.

And your mother, too

03 May 2007

This will hardly win a Hot Typography News prize, but here's yet another blog post about the premiere of Gary Hustwit's Helvetica film in Zürich, earlier this year, where I also attended the panel discussion.

For everyone who hasn't heard yet, in this lengthy informative monologue Spiekermann explains, once and for all, why Steve Jobs is to blame that even your mother uses Arial for her birthday invitations. Blame my spy cam for the sound quality.

People who don't see the point in discussing letterforms, this video might change your mind. Not.
